Jake Paul TKOs Mike Perry in 6th Round of Boxing Match - Seasports

Jake Paul secured a victory over former UFC fighter Mike Perry with a TKO at 1:12 of the sixth round during their boxing match on Saturday at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

Paul delivered three knockdowns: one in the first round, another in the second, and the final in the sixth. To end the bout, Paul staggered Perry with an overhand left and followed up with a series of punches that drove Perry to the canvas. Despite Perry getting back on his feet, the referee ended the fight.

Throughout the match, Paul maintained control, using his jab effectively and maneuvering to evade Perry’s stronger blows. Perry briefly gained some momentum in the third round with strikes to Paul’s head, but Paul regained control from the fourth round onward, leading to the TKO.

Looking ahead, Paul is set to face former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight, originally scheduled for July 20, was postponed after Tyson withdrew due to a medical issue. Paul-Perry was arranged on short notice by Most Valuable Promotions.

Paul also expressed interest in a future bout with UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. “Alex Pereira, you said you want to box,” Paul stated in his postfight interview. “I’m the king of this. Come over, we can make it happen. I want you, Alex Pereira. … I just beat a BKFC champion, I’ve beaten multiple UFC champions. He said he wants to box, so Alex Pereira, after Mike Tyson, let’s make it happen.”

Paul’s win improves his professional boxing record to 10-1 with seven knockouts, marking his fourth consecutive victory and third win by knockout.

Perry, competing in his professional boxing debut, acknowledged Paul’s performance. “I was trying to roll with the punches and hit your ass back,” Perry remarked to Paul. “You did a great job. You were way too fast for me and I couldn’t adjust.”

Perry, previously unbeaten in combat sports since his last UFC fight in 2021, entered BKFC in early 2022 and had since established himself as a prominent figure in the promotion with five consecutive victories.

Both fighters indicated openness to a rematch under MMA or BKFC rules. Paul affirmed, “Yeah, it’d be fun. I’m down for it all. I love combat. I love going to war. This is what I was destined for. And in two years, I will be the cruiserweight champion of the f—–g world.”
