Anthony Edwards Sets Sights on NBA’s Pinnacle, Believes He’ll Reign Supreme in 2-3 Years

In a recent interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews on NBA Today, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves shared his bold ambition: to ascend to the top of NBA greatness within the next two to three years.

During the segment, ESPN analyst Austin Rivers voiced his belief in Edwards’ potential, predicting that the young guard would emerge as the league’s best player in the near future. Andrews, intrigued by Rivers’ assertion, turned to Edwards for his thoughts on the matter.

Without hesitation, Edwards echoed Rivers’ sentiment, affirming, “Yeah, I 100 percent agree with him for sure. About two-to-three years, yeah.”

Despite already demonstrating his prowess on the court, averaging a career-high 25.9 points per game in his fourth NBA season, Edwards remains steadfast in his pursuit of excellence. Leading the charge for the Timberwolves, he propelled his team to an impressive 56-26 record, securing third place in the fiercely competitive Western Conference.

If Edwards’ assessment holds true, the prospect of him claiming the title of the NBA’s best player in the coming years becomes increasingly plausible. Nevertheless, he faces stiff competition from the likes of San Antonio Spurs’ rising star Victor Wembanyama, Denver Nuggets’ formidable big man Nikola Jokić, Dallas Mavericks’ dynamic guard Luka Dončić, and Milwaukee Bucks’ dominant forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, among other formidable contenders.

Despite the allure of future accolades, Edwards remains unwaveringly focused on the imminent playoffs. As his third-seeded Timberwolves prepare to square off against the sixth-seeded Phoenix Suns in a highly anticipated showdown on Saturday, Edwards’s commitment to both immediate success and long-term greatness is palpable. With his sights set firmly on leaving an indelible mark on the NBA landscape, Anthony Edwards is poised to captivate basketball enthusiasts worldwide.
