Patrick Beverley, a seasoned NBA veteran, has opted to join Hapoel Tel Aviv BC in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, according to his announcement on the “Pat Bev Pod” social media platform. At 36 years old, Beverley expressed satisfaction with the terms offered by Hapoel Tel Aviv, stating, “They gave me everything I asked for. I couldn’t refuse.”

While specifics of the contract remain undisclosed, Beverley had been weighing offers, including a veteran minimum deal in the NBA and what he described as a “historic” opportunity in Europe. Despite Israel not being geographically part of Europe, Beverley’s decision suggests a lucrative move potentially spanning multiple years.

Last season, Beverley concluded with the Milwaukee Bucks following a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged six points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, maintaining a 36% shooting accuracy from beyond the arc.

Beverley, known for his defensive prowess, will begin the 2024-25 season under a four-game suspension due to an incident during a playoff game against the Indiana Pacers, where he threw a basketball at courtside fans. Additional reasons for the suspension included his refusal to engage with ESPN reporter Malinda Adams, citing her lack of subscription to his podcast.

Having started his professional career overseas before entering the NBA in 2012, Beverley played for teams including the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks. His NBA tenure spans 666 games, with averages of 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, along with a 37% success rate on 3-point attempts.
