Ocon to Replace Magnussen at Haas for 2025 Season - Seasports

Esteban Ocon will replace Kevin Magnussen at Haas for the 2025 Formula 1 season, the American team confirmed on Thursday. The specifics of the contract were not disclosed, but Haas stated that Ocon has signed a “multi-year contract starting with the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.”

Ocon, who has driven for Alpine since its rebranding from Renault at the end of 2020, has scored only three points this season. He had previously announced he would be leaving Alpine, as his contract is set to expire at the end of the current season. Ocon’s only career win came at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2021, following a significant crash in wet conditions that eliminated many competitors.

“I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter in my Formula 1 career,” Ocon said. “I’ll be joining a very ambitious racing team, whose spirit, work ethic, and undeniable upward trajectory has really impressed me.”

Haas also confirmed last week that Magnussen will depart the team when his contract concludes at the end of this season.

Prior to the Belgian Grand Prix, team principal Ayao Komatsu stated that Ocon’s experience would be beneficial to the team. Haas has also added 19-year-old Oliver Bearman, who will replace Nico Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg is set to join Sauber, which will rebrand to Audi for the 2026 season.

“I think we have a hungry, dynamic driver pairing,” Komatsu added.
