West Ham Signs Crysencio Summerville for Reported £25 Million Ahead of Potential Move for Niclas Fullkrug

West Ham United has secured the signing of Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville in a deal worth a reported £25 million. The announcement was made on Saturday as the Premier League club continues to pursue Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug.

Summerville has agreed to a five-year contract with West Ham after a standout season in which he was named the Championship Player of the Year. The 22-year-old player, who was the third-highest scorer in the Championship last season with 19 goals, could see his transfer fee increase to £34 million with performance-related add-ons.

“Leeds United can confirm Crysencio Summerville has today joined West Ham United in a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, after an exit clause within his contract was triggered,” said a statement from Leeds United. “Crysencio now departs Elland Road to join Premier League outfit West Ham and we wish him well for the future.”

West Ham has been active in the transfer market, having already signed players such as Maximilian Kilman, Luis Guilherme, and Wes Foderingham after finishing ninth in the Premier League last season.

Summerville’s departure marks the second significant exit from Leeds United, following Archie Gray’s £40 million transfer to Tottenham earlier this close season. Summerville initially joined Leeds from Feyenoord in 2020.

In addition to Summerville, West Ham has also expressed interest in Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug. Dortmund has permitted Fullkrug to leave their pre-season training camp in Switzerland to engage in discussions with an unnamed club, believed to be West Ham.

“Niclas Fullkrug has left training camp in Switzerland on Saturday morning. Borussia Dortmund have allowed the striker to leave for talks with another club,” Dortmund confirmed in a statement on X.

Fullkrug, aged 31, scored 12 goals in 29 Bundesliga appearances last season and represented Germany at Euro 2024.
