Spurs Face Battle to Sign Bournemouth's Solanke

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke as a key target before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. The 26-year-old forward is reportedly keen on making a move to a club competing in European competitions to enhance his prospects of representing England.

Bournemouth is not keen to entertain offers for Solanke, who is under contract until 2027. The only circumstance that could prompt a sale is the £65 million release clause in his contract, which might lead to his departure from the club. Last season, Solanke had an impressive run, netting 21 goals in 42 appearances.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou stated last week that bolstering the forward line remains a priority for the team. “It’s still the area of the park we’re really probably the thinnest,” he remarked.

In addition to Solanke, Tottenham is exploring other options, including Lille’s Jonathan David, and is also open to acquiring a winger. The future of Richarlison remains uncertain, with reported interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, leading Spurs to pursue another striker regardless of the Brazilian’s situation.

Meanwhile, forwards Bryan Gil and Alejo Veliz have already been loaned out to Girona and Espanyol for the season, respectively. However, young talents such as Dane Scarlett, Will Lankshear, Jamie Donley, and Mikey Moore are all vying for opportunities within the squad.

This summer, Tottenham has strengthened its squad by signing midfielders Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, as well as winger Yang Min-hyuk. They have also re-signed striker Timo Werner on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig.
