Ludvig Aberg continued his impressive form at the Scottish Open, carding a 6-under 64 on Friday to take the lead at 12-under 128. His consistent performance positions him well in the tournament jointly sanctioned by the European Tour and PGA Tour.

French golfer Antoine Rozner also shot a 64, trailing Aberg by one stroke. Rozner’s strong play enhances his chances of securing a spot in the British Open, leading the pack in qualification standings.

Rory McIlroy, returning after a break, posted a solid 66 to stay in contention at 9-under 131, alongside players like Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala. Despite feeling he could have capitalized on more birdie opportunities, McIlroy expressed satisfaction with his position going into the weekend.

Aberg, reflecting on his round, emphasized his adherence to a sound game plan and execution strategy, noting missed chances but overall content with his play.

Sungjae Im (67) and Matteo Manassero (63) are two shots off the lead at 130, while notable performances include Justin Thomas recovering from a double bogey to finish at 6-under, and Xander Schauffele extending his impressive cut streak with a 65.

The tournament saw notable players miss the cut, including Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama, and Rickie Fowler, while Adam Scott’s aggressive play highlighted by a remarkable drive on the par-5 10th underscored his round of 65.

McIlroy, aiming to secure a third career back-to-back tournament victory, remains focused on his consistent performance at The Renaissance Club, where he has now recorded six consecutive rounds of 68 or better.

The Scottish Open continues to unfold, promising an exciting weekend of golf as players vie for top honors and coveted spots in major championships.
